Restorative Yoga in Riverside

Gentle, prop-supported stillness designed to calm the nervous system.

A restorative pose supported by bolsters and blankets

Restorative Yoga is a practice of being held. Supported by props and gentle guidance, you rest in simple poses while your nervous system learns to downshift. It's for anyone carrying stress, recovering from illness or injury, or simply wanting permission to rest.

What we offer

  • Fully supported poses so your body feels safe and held
  • Props arranged just for you—bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps—so you can truly relax
  • 60 minutes of gentle stillness without strain or effort
  • A warm room and quiet guidance that invites your whole system to soften
  • Space to let go of the day and remember what calm feels like

Questions

Will I fall asleep?

Some people do rest deeply, and that's fine—your body takes what it needs. Many students find they're alert but deeply calm, noticing sensations they usually miss because they're always in motion.

Is Restorative Yoga a real practice?

Absolutely. It's based on yoga therapy and is used by physical therapists, counselors, and yoga teachers to help people recover from stress, illness and injury. It's a legitimate, powerful practice.

How is this different from just lying on your couch?

The setup, the teacher's guidance, the room itself, and being with others who are also resting create a different quality. You're in a space designed for rest, with expert support—that's something you can't replicate alone.
